Today’s superyachts demand performance that goes beyond protection.
At Jotun, sustainability starts with longevity. The longer a coating performs, the less
yacht maintenance, energy and raw materials are required over its life.
For 100 years, Jotun has developed products engineered to safeguard yachts in the
most demanding environments. Today, that expertise supports a more sustainable
approach to yachting, helping reduce paint usage, waste, maintenance demands and
carbon footprint.
From durable topcoat systems to high-performance antifouling technology, Jotun
Yachting connects protection, efficiency and sustainability in a practical way.
The result is long-lasting performance that supports cleaner operations and helps
protect your yacht, while reducing maintenance demands
Our continued focus on performance and longevity means reducing maintenance and impact on the environment. More efficient and durable products mean less paint, less waste and less energy usage. This is recognised worldwide, with our 2025 EcoVadis Gold sustainability rating.
From UV resistance through to fouling protection, we make it our mission to protect yachts, not only when it leaves the yard, but across the seven seas, year after year, from the tropical climate of the Caribbean to the ice-packed waters of the Arctic.
We are mindful of protecting the environment whenever we can. By innovating and developing advanced products and solutions, we can help protect biodiversity and reduce CO₂ to support sustainability efforts. Jotun has more than 500 published, valid Environmental Product Declarations across all sectors. These EPDs enable us to communicate transparent and comparable information about the environmental impact of products.
As IMO moves towards a binding biofouling convention, Jotun research presented at PortPIC 2026 shows that the climate gains of keeping a hull clean far outweigh the footprint of the solution itself.
Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) has signed an agreement with Jotun to implement Hull Skating Solution (HSS), becoming the first cruise operator to use this robotic proactive hull cleaning technology. With this commitment, Carnival continues to utilise innovation and technology to reduce emissions and protect biodiversity.
Jotun COSCO Marine Coatings (JCMC) participated in the Global Partners Conference held by COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and COSCO Shipping (Hainan) Co., Ltd. in Boao, Hainan on June 26, bringing together industry partners to exchange insights on sustainable shipping and hull performance.
