Jotun grew operating revenue by 2 per cent compared with the same period last year, while operating profit improved by 4 per cent. According to the financial report released today, Jotun’s result was primarily driven by volume growth as well as price increases to partly offset higher raw material costs.
Adjusted for negative currency translation effects due to a stronger Norwegian krone, sales grew by 10 per cent while operating profit was up 13 per cent, indicating a solid underlying improvement.

Contrasts and challenges
2026 so far has been a tale of two worlds for Jotun. The Norwegian paints and coatings manufacturer is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. At the same time, Jotun has a significant presence in war-affected markets in the Middle East, with several large units and nearly 2 000 employees.
“The conflict continues to weigh on us, with supply chain disruptions and increased raw material costs adding pressure on our margins. We have navigated significant geopolitical tension and currency fluctuations, and I’m proud to see the resilience shown by our teams around the world”, says Fon.
Future outlook
The global uncertainty is expected to remain, but Jotun continues to invest. Major projects within production capacity, logistics and R&D facilities support the company’s long-term growth ambitions.
“In addition to handle the ongoing challenges, we continue to identify profitable growth opportunities in existing and new markets. Our goal is to strengthen our competitiveness even further”, says Fon.
With its diversified product portfolio and vast geographical footprint, Jotun is well-positioned to tackle the uncertainty and maintains its long-term investment plans and growth strategy.
