The Jotun Multicolor story
Jotun's colour tinting system, Multicolor, is world leading with over 7,500 installations, nearly 3,500 of them in the Middle East and Asia Pacific region.
The tinting system was introduced in 1976 and has been thoroughly tested in all markets where we are present.
The competitive edge in customer relationship and profits
The Jotun Multicolor tinting system brings significant savings through lower capital demand as well as by giving improved customer service. The consistent and prominent branding elements of the system also enhance the dealer image. By removing the need for many different containers of coloured paint and replacing them with a small number of white or clear bases, total stock keeping units (SKUs) can be reduced by more than 90 per cent. This does not only simplify the process, but also adds to the convenience and ’feel’ of the paint shopping experience.
Enhancing the image of the paint shops

Jotun's Multicolor systems and the shop display system give the paint shops an image of being technologically modern and professional.
We strive to make dealing with Jotun products a good experience for all target groups, the shop front being clean, tidy, stand out and being attractive.

Improving sales
Increase overall sales
Besides attracting more customers with the enhanced image, the chances are that a customer who shops for special or non-standard colours will also buy accessories and standard paint from the same shop.
Multicolor inspiration centres help customers' choice of colour scheme for his or her specific project. Jotun colour swatches are always reflecting current trends as well as classic palettes. -
Better cash flow
Higher stock turnover; Lower stocking expenses
Faster forecasting and planning leads to reduced need for buffer stock. This releases capital thus saving on borrowing interest, while the reduced gap between stocking and actual sale ensures better cash flow.
Jotun Multicolor considers innovation as a key to keep its competitive edge among its competitors.
Easier forecasting and ordering
By reducing the units involved, forecasting of requirements can be made accurately with less effort.
Reduced forecasting and ordering
Fewer products require less segregation as well as physical space, while reducing the possibility of errors. This means less storage space, easier order processing and distribution and therefore more efficient staffing.
100 per cent reduction in slow moving and obsolete stock
As colours are made at customer request only, the cannot be less in demand. Moreover, as they are instantly made to order, there is no need to stock potentially slow-moving colours at all.
