Created by Jotun’s global colour team, the Journeys collection is designed to inspire personal expression through colour. In this article, the team shares their recommendations for combining colours, creating depth, and building harmonious spaces throughout your home – while encouraging you to explore the palettes and create colour combinations that are uniquely your own.

Each palette in the 2027 collection – Memories, Discoveries, and Experiences – is carefully curated by Jotun’s global colour team, inviting you to create your own colour expression.

When choosing a colour, remember that our colours are only half the secret. The rest is in the paint. Formulated for durability, ready for everyday living, beautiful for years. 

Neutrals

If you love neutrals, you’ll find a range of shades that combine beautifully across the colour palettes. Century White, Nostalgic Whisper, Beige Sheen, and Almond Beige form a refined neutral palette – perfect for highlighting details or creating soft, harmonious transitions between rooms.

If you’d like to introduce more colour among the neutrals, consider adding touches of green, plum, and purples, alongside fresh blues and more muted ochres and earthy hues.

Colour layering

Try colour layering, using one colour with varying sheens in a room. Combining different sheens creates a monochromatic harmonious expression, a technique that adds highlights and shadows, giving the room more textual structure than a single solid colour. For example, you could contrast matte walls with a glossier door frame.

You can also choose a colour for the ceiling that enhances the space. Light colours will lift it and give an airy feeling, while darker colours will embrace the room and make it feel comfortable.

Becoming

In addition to the three themes – Memories, Discoveries, Experiences – we introduce a fourth theme – Becoming. This theme offers a dedicated space for you to experiment and be playful and invites you to mix and match colours to find your own personal expression. Whether you prefer neutrals, vibrant colours or warm earthy tones, you can create a personal atmosphere with colour combinations that truly resonate with you.
