Work your way around the world

If you have a global mindset, Jotun is a great place to kickstart or advance an international career. We want our employees to grow with us and we offer several mobility programmes abroad.

International work experience

Jotun is active all over the world in multiple business segments, from engineering and logistics to sales and marketing. We attract people who are keen to expand their horizons and help them find a short- or long-term assignment abroad. These initiatives are hugely popular among our employees.

Working in another country is an eye-opening way to grow. It's also a fun way to learn more both about yourself and how you can make your mark at Jotun and beyond. Last but not least, our mobility programmes are a great way for us to boost what we call “the penguin spirit” – respect and understanding in a diverse workforce.

Flexible programmes

We offer both short- and long-term programmes. Our most popular option is the Short-Term Assignment (STA), where you get to work in another country for three to twelve months. This is a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your skills, experience an international business environment, and build a personal network.

The Mobile Workforce (MWF) programme is another way for Jotun employees to go abroad. MWF is often used to build market knowledge for specific positions or to support organisational changes.

A third option is our International Assignments (IA). These are available to positions such as company manager and seconded project manager.

MEIA Graduate Programme

On a regional level, we recruit around 15 university graduates per year in the Middle East, India, and Africa. The graduates take part in a one-year career development programme with specialised training and mentoring by senior management. They can also join a Short-Term Assignment in a different country within the same region.

Back on track

In the last five years, Jotun has tripled the number of mobility programmes for staff. Not surprisingly, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed some mobility projects. Still, we had around 165 individuals on assignments across the globe in 2021. We’re now looking forward to getting back on track in the near future!
