Solar power is key to reaching our renewable energy goals. The largest solar power installation among the Jotun countries has been running on the factory rooftop in Vietnam for a full year. The results speak for themselves:
- 36% of the energy used in operations is powered by solar energy
- The rest comes from certified renewable sources
- Fast installation (2 months) and short payback time (estimated at 6.5 years)
“These days we celebrate one year of solar power at Jotun Vietnam. The plant has proven highly effective and a solid investment”

Arvold adds that export levels are increasing in Vietnam, creating new requirements for local companies. Several large players now require green initiatives such as solar power installation if you would like a seat at the negotiation table. So, the Jotun Vietnam team does not plan to stop as solar panels.
“We are now exploring a battery park to maximise capacity and efficiency even further. Sustainability isn’t just a goal. It’s our way forward. Many customers now see Jotun as a role model and want to implement similar solutions in their own factories. We’re setting a strong example for a more sustainable future”
