Abu Dhabi’s Masdar Institute of Science and Technology(MIST) in the United Arab Emirates is the first graduate-level university committed to finding solutions for a cleaner future.

MIST’s exterior has been covered using Jotun Durasol for an ultra-premium powder coating, while also offering ultimate durability and timeless protection. Jotashield Decor Traditional Tex was used on the outer walls of the structure, giving it a unique aesthetic while also providing excellent UV, carbon dioxide, and alkali resistance. Finally, to give it long lasting colour, Jotashield Colourlast was used. Jotashield Colourlast is formulated with an advanced binder technology, reducing maintenance and offering longer life.

The inner walls of MIST were painted using our most hygienic paint, Fenomastic Hygiene. It is a super-quality, pure acrylic-based emulsion paint which offers resistance against bacterial and fungal growth. The floors of the structure were coated with Jotafloor Coating, which is a two component, amine-cured, solvent-free epoxy coating. With its excellent chemical, abrasion, and impact resistance, it is also self-smoothing and easy to apply.
