Red Cross / Red Crescent
The Red Cross is an international humanitarian relief agency, with Red Cross or Red Crescent societies in 187 countries
The basic principle of the organisation is the protection of human life and rights in order to work towards worldwide peace.
The organisation is founded on the seven principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
Red cross assists all those who are in need, irrespective of race, religion or ideology.
Jotun has supported and contributed to Red Cross projects for many years.
To help people who have been wounded in conflicts or have suffered at the hands of natural disasters or other human tragedies, is in the heart of Jotun's value foundation.
Jotun's main focus is to contribute and help at locations and in countries where Jotun is present, but we are also supporting other big Red Cross projects.
www.icrc.orgRed Cross initiatives
Jotun has provided funds to the RCRC movement to support staff at COVID 19 screening sites in South Sudan.
For years, Jotun has stood by the International Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) movement providing support to disaster relief efforts through the Norwegian Red Cross. Jotun is proud to sponsor a number of projects to contain the spread of COVID 19.
Unlike more localised disasters in the past, Jotun’s 2020 contribution has gone to four different countries, all over the world. In Iraq, the ICRC is distributing hygiene kits to schools and clinics and in Pakistan ventilators and protective equipment to aid in case management. Jotun has also enabled the RCRC movement to fund support staff for screening sites in Honduras and South Sudan.Donations in recent years
