Colours
Our principal corporate colours are blue, red and yellow.

These colours form a nucleus providing elements of unity and harmony in our Corporate Identity work.
Blue is our dominant colour and is to be used in all leading identity elements; printed matter, signs, flags, vehicles, clothing and on trade fairs.
Correct reproduction of our corporate colours is one of the most challenging areas in our corporate work.
We can never be specific or accurate enough – therefore samples of approved colour tags must always be enclosed with the artwork – even if we specify the code in each case.
Printers and agencies working with Jotun must pay special attention to this information as they will be held responsible for the final result.

Guidelines
Corporate colours on different printing surfaces
Our corporate colours may only be omitted for special financial or technical reasons. Correct colour reproduction will be ensured through the use of international code systems applying to different principles, materials and purposes. Pantone is to be applied for printing (the Pantone Matching System, otherwise known as PMS and the Europeseries for four-colour prints screen combinations). RAL and NCS is applicable for car laquer, exterior and interior paints and lacquers.
Please be aware that accurate reproduction of our colours will be influenced by the nature and conditions of the colours to be used, the printing methods, the type of paper and the character of the surface, the type of materials, different light and viewing conditions.
Pantone colour printing
Pantone colours are to be used when no halftone colour illustrations are needed in the printing assignment. Pantone colours provide the most accurate reproduction of the Jotun colours.
Four colour printing (CMYK)
This printing method is to be used when the printed matter is to contain colour halftone illustrations. This ’mixed’ method of Europe standard colours can never match the accuracy of the Pantone system, but the reproduction will be fairly similar to the colours of the Pantone method.
Please note that cmyk values indicated in this guideline is taken from “Pantone® color bridgeTM coated EURO” (Pantone EC).
Packaging
This area covers print on paper, board, plastic and tin. Both PMS and four colour printing are involved. It is extremely important that our colours are correctly reproduced on packaging. For this reason, printing of packaging must always be based on the correct colour samples. For packaging such as cans, the samples printed on tin plate must be used.
For board packaging, the samples of Pantone colours on matt or glossy paper are to be used.
Control of printing results
It is essential that colours are printed as accurately as possible. Deviation from the individual colour samples will not be accepted. Anyone in charge of a project should attend the start of each production/printing process.
Authorization!
Anyone who works with Jotun's visual identity or print materials for Jotun is to be authorized by Jotun, and is obligated to adhere to the guidelines in accordance with the signed authorization agreement.

Corporate colours
It should always be aimed to obtain a colour that is as close to the standard as possible, and slightly wrong results should never be used as benchmark for new production.
It is possible to use other colours which are adjusted to products as well as design trends.
Grey colours from the palette can be used in charts, graphics etc.
