Jotun Powder Coatings does an eco-deed a day

As Jotun continue to focus on its sustainability efforts, Jotun Powder Coating Division decided to change attitudes about the environment from the inside out, starting with our employees.

At Jotun we remain committed towards reducing our environmental footprint and that doesn’t just mean improving our products and processes, but improving our attitude as well.

So how do we put the environment on the top of every employee’s mind everyday?

Jotun Powder Coatings Division did that with the ‘An eco-deed a day’ campaign.

The Eco Penguin (and CR mascot) was the spokesperson and encouraged staff to do simple eco-deeds such as switching off the lights, reducing the use of paper towels and printed materials, turning off computer screens and other small deeds that make a big difference.

The penguin could be found at different places in the office such as printed posters, screensavers, email signatures etc. and wisely gave employees good advise on how they could make the office a greener place.

This successful and effective campaign applied a practical approach to green activities (actually living the environmental focus), and encouraged our employees to change behaviour and see a brighter, greener future. Because the campaign was quite light hearted, our colleagues have been positively interacting with it.

The campaign covers a mix of different media from small size stickers, to digital widgets, e-newsletter and an online quiz teaching staff about Jotun Powder Coatings green credentials.

Early indications show some tangible greener behaviour and even some savings in our electrical and paper consumption bills.

So have you done your eco-deed for the day?
